A proud Silicon Valley native, designer Scarlett Fiona Reed’s perennial interest in art and interiors led her to craft her career, honing it skill by skill. While she did go to school to learn business management, all of her design skills were acquired in the real world (and via This Old House, her favorite television show since 1980). Her keen eye and good taste just come naturally.
Faux finishing was all the rage in the 1990’s, and Scarlett was ahead of the game. She developed her own techniques – creating unique spaces in homes, nightclubs and restaurants, and then taught it to painters in the San Francisco Bay area.
Never one to follow the pack, when she could not find jewelry she liked, Scarlett taught herself. She began making her own and went on to host parties to sell her one of a kind beauties. To this day she is still creating special pieces, for herself and for you, which will pop up from time to time in her online shop.
In 1998 Reed began working under designer Gail Salice at The Avenue in Los Gatos California, gathering every bit of knowledge, from everything upholstery to the intricacies of specifying window treatments. She later went on to work for Joella Conover at Antiques and Interiors, where she found her unwavering love of linen and fine antiques.
In 2005 Scarlett opened her dream store, showcasing her interior design style in the gorgeous home furnishings shop, Saffron and Genevieve. Today she works from her home office in the rolling hills of San Jose, creating awesome spaces for her clients.
Scarlett’s online shop is carefully curated with her tried and true favorites for the home, jewelry, gifts, and one of a kind vintage goodness. She is constantly traveling and searching for captivating and unique pieces that reflect her distinct and exclusive style.
