the one about all of the research (I’m about to get all technical)

In 13 days I’ll be flying back to Texas for my 12th visit to the antique fair in Warrenton. I have had my purchases come back to California in 5 different ways. This time I decided to make sure I had exhausted every option. I’ve spent at least two hours a day working on it or talking to someone about it over the past 3 weeks. The dealers I buy from out there have been so helpful and full of information and ideas, but they all add up to a pricey delivery. I just wanted to be sure that driving back myself was the best (read – cheapest) way. It is, for now at least. Truck prices from Austin to Santa Cruz just doubled, it’s all based on supply and demand, so hopefully our Silicon Valley is not losing any more tech companies to Austin. That’s the good news. The bad news is – prices on killer antiques is about to go up, unless gas goes way down to even it out. I’m still very excited, as always. My shopping buddy for the past 3 trips is driving back with me and we get along great. I look forward to sharing my finds with you!
