The one where I welcome the new decade with open arms, and sustainable-organic clothing

Happy New Year!  I wish you everything positive and wonderful and beautiful and bountiful.  Everyone I know is so ready for a fresh start and want to put 2010 far behind them.  For Saffron and Genevieve 2010 was also pretty darn hard, but still twice as good as 2009.  I spit on the grave of 2009!

Back to 2011… I knew big changes were in order, I may have been feeling a bit of discontent, bored and restless with the shop the way it has been.  I can pinpoint these feelings to the lack of successful antiquing trips lately.  Either I am getting much pickier (if that is possible) or there is generally a lack of good stuff that lights my fire out there.  In any case, time for something fresh while I wait that out (and I will wait, because antiquing for my shop is my true passion).  I got a note from Deirdre of Oak & Co. asking if I wanted to try a pop-up shop with CLOTHES here!  Now, anyone that knows me knows I am not a big shopper for myself, and that I NEVER wanted to sell clothes.  The Scout pre-loved boots were a stretch for me, but they fit in quite well so I said what the heck, the timing could not be more serendipitous!  Everything went in today, and I am amazed at how they just seem to GO here.  Of course, they are fabulous and organic, sustainable, fair trade and we love all of the designers.  I think with clothes I can now truly call Saffron and Genevieve a “lifestyle store”, whatever that means…

So, great reason for a party, right?

A one-day only special event celebrating the opening of the Oak & Company pop-up store in Saffron and Genevieve.

The two companies are partnering to bring Oak & Company’s celebrated sustainable clothing labels into the

gorgeously eco-minded antique and interiors store.

The pop-up store will feature signature designers including mr. larkin, Samantha Sung, Sofie Olgaard, Mika Organics,

Manu Lingerie, Lina Rennell, Juleselin, Filly, Big Blue Bike, Prairie Underground, The Podolls, Greenbees, Michelle Stitz and more.

Meet some of the designers, come see the lovely, newly designed store and enjoy delicious tea, Prosecco and tasty treats.

Friday, January 14
Tea and Coffee provided by Lulu Carpenters & Scones by Iveta : 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Cocktail party opening 5-9 p.m.

See the article in the Santa Cruz Sentinel, and don’t miss the giveaway in the Santa Cruz Good Times!

Just arrived, a VERY limited amount of STASH bags!

Oh, and yes, I was  closed for 10 days so I could completely re-do the shop!  I had a really, really fantastic week of inspiration and non-stop creative bursts, talking and singing to myself and TCB!  I LOVE the way it looks and can’t wait to reopen tomorrow so you can see it too!  Catch the excitement of the transformation and preview pictures on Facebook.

2011 is going to ROCK!!!
