Hi Friends,

I am so excited about this installation! Tuesday and Wednesday I set up my goods in the entry, staircase, and upper hallway in a really lovely Craftsman home for the Summit Leagues Home for the Holidays Tour in Los Gatos. Thursday and Friday (the 21st) you can view three homes, opened up to us decorators and florists by their generous owners to raise money for a great cause. More info here.

This space is a true testament to the way I work. I can plan and plan and plan, and make pinterest boards and loads of notes but when it came down to it, I just went to the shop on Monday, threw a bunch of stuff in my car and hoped for the best. Later that day, during a root canal, I worked via text to secure pepperberries (thanks, neighbor!). Tuesday I went to the space, stared at it for a couple of hours and realized what else it needed. Special delivery from my shop on Wednesday (the perfect chest of drawers) and everything came together perfectly. Also late Tuesday, I was given the forgotten hallway at the top of the stairs. I think I filled it nicely, all from my house.

The Georgian chest is the perfect piece for that spot, and am hoping the homeowners decide to keep it, it really makes the space (although someone else has dibs on it). My early English barley twist chairs are so perfect in the entry as well, with the lovely hide I brought. Pillow fabric by Jasper. The greens on the stairs are from my yard 🙂 Aged deer sheds from Texas, of course. The stag is my favorite piece. I found it like this, ears torn and fur missing from the nose, revealing old plaster. I placed a crown of Victorian shell flowers on his head. There’s now a line of  fans hoping to take him home (homeowner gets first dibs). I hope you get a chance to see the homes in person, if not, enjoy these images!

  1. Scarlett, Just finding you, your blog and this lovely site through the house tour! I also have a blog and wrote a piece about the homes today and featured your designs and linked to this site. I love your style and it amazes me what magic you can do with a books and greens just thrown in your car! The chests were gorgeous too. I also love books in decor and natural elements. You did a beautiful job on Leasa’s home. She is a friend of mine and I have had her home on my blog before. I’m looking forward to getting over to your shop! Love your blog too!
